I was a 3 times a year El Salto fisherman until recently. I have not been back for 2 years and have no plans to return yet. The issues in Mexico have been a blessing in disguise. I have discovered some pretty cool places to fish that satisfy the "adventure" need. Obviously Falcon is hot and I will be going back soon. Here are a couple other places that you might consider. For a really cool smallmouth trip, the Aksawasne Mohawk Indian reservation on the NY/Quebec border provides for an awesome experience. Lots of 4lb smallies and a very good chance for one or more over 5lbs. Try May or October for this trip and you can mix in some good Pike and Largie action. We filmed a show there with Lakes Region Fishing and shold air on VS in 2012.

Another place that was extremely cool was a trip to South Africa. I flew over for app. $1300 round trip and fished about 2 hrs from Durbin. Some really big fish can be had and you can mix in a game drive which had to be one of the greatest things I have ever been involved with. I have several staff in South Africa and am part owner of a distriborship there. I would be happy to elaborate if anyone is interested in these two destinations.
