I was a treasure hunter when I was a kid, digging holes in the deserted sand dunes of South Padre Island every weekend. So, I am thinking geocaching would have been more fun because I never found anything. Here are the coordinates for the first TFC Fly Geocache - N33 23.883 W96 59.785. Three flies await the lucky finder, and they work well right where they are located - in plain sight. I have photos of the cache too in case more hints are needed. What else is there to do during the doldrums?

I can narrow it down further (i am in east Texas so I can only virtual-geocache) .. it is located along FM 1192 approx 700 yards from the point the raod splits towards either boat ramp or Lantana resort. It is off the road on the western side 10 paces next to a yellow dixie cup.

Not a bad idea Shannon.
I just couldn't help it. Deb wanted to grab a bite over in the area so I thought I would drop by the spot you are referring to.
It's very nice the way the long shallows went so far out. I bet the carp really back up in there with a south west wind.

I didn't have my fly rod with me or I would have taken them down and gave it a shot.
So I left it tied to the tree as I found it.

Very good Shaun! So glad you found it - and left it! I hear it is getting quite crowded in that area, and it probably won't last this day.

Yea, There were a three fly fishing there when I walked up with my wife yesterday.
I'm thinking you have a good idea with crossing GeoCaching and fishing lures. Everyone likes something free. smile

I once thought about hiding a rhino lined deacon canister out on a tree in the middle of lake waco. Only the truly dedicated are worthy... smile
