I'm going to be heading to the Guadalupe next week... during the week, so tubers shouldn't be too bad. Wondering if now would be a decent time to target some stripers below the Canyon Dam? If so should I focus on the River Rd. area or closer to the dam? Anyone ever had luck right in the actual spillway? Deeper holes right? I have a kayak so I can get almost anywhere and anchor up or wade. I prefer live baits but am not opposed to artificials. Baits? Time of day? Anything else? Thanks in advance.

Its staring to heat up (no pun intended) stripers are gettin hungry. Perch,goldfish and large minnow work. For artificial, any kinda of rainbow trout jerk bait, crank biat or swimbait will do. In the river from the dam to whitewater is good.

Use Big baits... The kayak is going to be tough if the water is low. I would try close to the dam if I were you. I used to fish it a lot when I went to school in San Marvelous....

Find the deep pools left.
The Stripers have been few this year but the ones caught are good ones.
