Curado and Citica are my "go-to" reels for inshore. I've also got a couple of Abu's, 1 Calcutta, 1 Torium and 4 TLD's. For spinning gear I go with Penn and have a couple of Fin-Nor's. But I tend to have a lot of confidence in Shimano products.

I've got a Shimano Sienna (CHEAP!) goin' on 5 yrs. at the coast, no problems. When an entry level reel holds up that well, I'm sold. Also have Shimano Cruxis, Curado, and Castiac. I'd really like to upgrade in the spinning category, so with $200 I'd get the 2500 series Stradic, and have change left.

I know what you mean about the entry level reels holding up. My Sedona 2500 only cost me $50, but i think my decision ha come between the Quantum Catalyst or the good ole trusty Curad

I have two Revo Inshores that I love, I highly recommend them to everyone.

What are you looking for in weight category? Are you looking for a 6.5 oz reel or farthest distance, obviously all must have reduced corrosion.

what ya looking for...and why?

I dont mind too much about weight, just trying to stay in the size of about 150ish yards of 12lb. Im just looking for a new reel because my curado is getting old and i just want something new. Im willing to try out other brands besides shimano.

I just bought a Revo SX and it's great once you get the tuning right.

I own a revo inshore... its a great reel with better drag than anything in its class. However it is prone to corrosion, I never take it out into surf its a real pain to clean but I do usually use it when im wading or on any typical day of fishing but if I dunk it gotta make sure its cleaned out very well. I had one mess up on me last year.
