Thanks, Gaff. "Cabins" being a general term I chose to describe cottage/lodge/rental home, etc....

I've rented a few of their vacation homes and they were excellent.
They were clean and cozy homes and the fishing was great from their lighted piers

Nightshift, All depends on the size and age of the Family. Are you boating, swimming, pier fishing, or wading, ect. The Rockport City Beach is excellent for Family. If this is your first time get out and around see the sites. It'll help ya make plans for your next visit. Our main plan is fishing this year. Taking the boat and renting a canal home across from Estes flats.

I just did a two night stay at the Pelican Point house. Nice house, nice pier, no fish but that's fishing. The fees and taxes really bring up the total cost. For example, house is listed at $275 a night. But tack on a taxable cleaning fee, processing fees, and a total sales tax and it came out to $740. Paid it, but a little high if you just want a fishing cottage...

Ouch....I was thinking that $ 350 a night meant $ 700 plus deposit....wasnt aware of the "taxes"....I was looking at those with a private lighted pier or bank fishing since I dont own a boat....a nearby beach for surf fishing would be a nice add on....im not familiar with the area so please forgive me if the beach is two blocks away....

Nightshift, there are less exspensive places to hang your hat for a few days. On our short two or three day trips we stay at the Sanddollar. We have a kitchenet booked for two days in June for The Music Fest. Only shelling out 230.00. They have a private lighted pier. The Fulton City Park pier is just down the road. If I remember right they charge per pole. All of this is on Aransas Bay.
