Guys and Gals

I am going to run a derby as previously discussed in this thread. Please vote to let me know if you are interested and post up in this thread if you are definitely attending.

I will host at a location to be determined in Fort Worth from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday May 22nd 2011

Rules

1) Derby is from 8am to 6pm - you do not have to fish the whole event, you can arrive after the event start time and leave before the end. Everyone must check-in before they are allowed to fish (I will be there at 7:00 am). NO EXCEPTIONS!!

2) All fish must be verified by another angler fishing the event. It is the anglers responsibility that the fish weight is confirmed by another angler.

3) All fish caught must swim off before it will be recorded. If the fish is harmed in anyway and isn't able to swim off then it will not count.

4) Winner of Derby will be determined by heaviest 5 fish limit. First tiebreaker is heaviest single fish.

5) You got to have a fishing licence.

6) There will be a jackpot for biggest buffalo and for biggest carp - $5 entry to each. No one is obliged to enter the jackpots and all monies will be paid to the winner in each pot.

7) Three rods per angler maximum.

8) No treble hooks please!!!

Most likely location will be a downtown section of the Trinity - numbers attending will decide which section as one area would be good for around 8-10 max, more than that and I have another section in mind that is better suited to more anglers.

I have fished three different sections now and caught numbers of carp at each one and a couple of decent buffs too.

I think any of the spots will give everyone chances to catch plenty of carp - sizes may not be huge but high singles to mid teens make for good a good derby result with the best 5 counting.

Of course people could focus on buffalo and catch two for 50-60lb or carp and catch 5 for the same sort of weight.. I like derbies that give everyone a good chance of winning rather than just those in the prime swims.
