I like the powerpole but Ive heard they leak down.. The warranty doesnt cover the labor to fix it and Ive heard of a couple of them that have had that problem

I had the same question in ordering my new boat. A quick trip to YouTube to watch a couple guys trying to tear up a couple of power poles Totaly made my mind up for me!!!! Unbelievable that they can stand up to that abuse. Nothing on the Talon, but really do not think it could stand up to that same abuse due to its straight down deployment design. Go watch it! Its worth seeing what a Power Pole can handle!

I remember when the Talon was introduced. Everyone on here couldn't wait to get one because it was supposed to be so much better than the Power Pole. Now, so far on this thread, Power Pole is the clear choice. I'll stick with mine.

I don't think the talon was better than the pp but just as effective at a lower price. Easier to self install and compact in a single unit. None of my friends who have one have any complaints about the product. But its only been on since they becam available late last year. BTW there's an online retailer selling the 8 ft unit for less than 1100 dollars.

I have customers that are using both. The power pole has a funky radio remote control that has some problems. No problem getting factory repair parts. The Talon on one of the customers boat, failed to retract and all the lights showed that it had. 200hp 4blade prop snapped that puppy off. Warantee took over with no problem. So I guess that it could come down to price, and wheather you want a sissor action or spear deployment. I have not had any complaints from either side.
