I had a 2001 Nitro and it was a big piece of [censored]. Cracking in the hull. I even had to have it taken in and have air pockets knocked out of it. Seals on every compartment were coming off. Service was terrible and Tracker/Nitro wouldn't stand behind their boat. I even had the guy at the dealer ask me "what do all these problems have to do with fishing". In which I promptly replied, "It has nothing to do with fishing, it has to do with the $30,000 I spent on it!" No more Nitro's for me!

Now I have a Ranger. Never been happier with a boat. Night and day difference in the quality and service.

The new Nitro is suffering from a hangover from the old Nitro. It affects people perception of current quality and customer service. Nitro has a long road back, but they seem to be correcting their past problems and are making much more quality boats than before '04. That being said, it is that attitude that still affects resale on the new Nitro's, even today.

I really appreciate any and all, good or bad info on the nitros.. As I said before Ive heard more bad than good about them.. I dont have lots of money or time to spend on a boat that is going to be in the shop alot... Ive been talking to people trying to do my homework and thought what better place than TFF to get info... I currently have a Triton TR21 made in 1997 and I want a newer boat... Thanks for all the info and anymore will be appreciated as well...

mho=getting better and would own a newer one if I had to... Hull warranties are not transferrable.
My Ranger was the best boat ever IMO. No corners cut and if I needed a part, one phone call had the item on it's way.

Sounds like you have the itch. I just had my boat in for some service on the LU. My mechanic and I were standing there reminiscing a little and I said you know it may not have the shine but it still fishes at least as good as it did the day I bought it.

I have a really good friend thats a Nitro-Tracker dealer and I asked him a few months ago in the differnces in the older and these newer Nitros and he told me that the older ones were basically junk but these new ones are 100 times better and getting better every year that goes by.
