I love the explosion on a Jitterbug, but IMO the buzzbait is more effective (and versatile). You can fish it in a variety of conditions and at various speeds. Most of the time, I am more likely to get a better hookset with the buzzbait.

Both have their time and place.

Two completely different baits. If the fish are on an active topwater bite the buzzbait will catch you more fish. It covers more water and can be thrown in the thick stuff. That being said don't overlook throwing a jitterbug at pressured fish. For a heart attack fish a black jitterbug at night. Want to get really serious... get a musky Jitterbug(big) and throw it on a quiet summer night!

At night (black) and around bedding bream that the bass are getting even with for harassing them during their spawn rolfmao for that I like the white one with the black spots and orange belly.

Jitterbugs are a blast at night. I used to fish them A LOT. Hardest part of fishing them is not reacting to the explosion when the bass blow up on them and, instead, just steady reeling at the same "chug-chug" rate until your rod loads up.

nice thing about a jitterbug is you can stop it next to cover and drive the fish nut's...but day-in day-out i'll sling the buzzbait, as was already said a buzzbait can be fished through all kinds of cover... an old timer once said " the reason bass explode on buzzbaits is they think there small bass boats and they want to kill them before they get bigger "...LOL
