Fly fishing for bass in Central Texas on the last day of March 2011. The wind and weather finally cooperated as I made my way out to the stock tank near Kurten about an hour or so before dark. We are suffering through another drought and lakes, creeks and rivers show it. The first big bass of the year on the fly was the second fish I caught and followed up by another good one on the next cast. Catching fish on a fly that you have created yourself is just more better.

I tied up a couple more foam froggy flys and headed back out Saturday morning for a little fishing before starting work on the bulkhead and dock. I caught several nice bass but nothing too big. fished from about 10am to noon or so. I took some video but haven't processed it yet. Might be Monday before I can get around to it.

I love that frog you tied, do you just get all of your stuff at hobby lobby or some craft store?

The feathers & bucktail I got from Gander Mountain before they cut back on all their fly stuff. The foam sheets are from either Walmart or Michaels but it's common craft foam.
