Have not been out in a while. How easy are the shad to catch at Lavon right now. Are they shallow early in the morn yet? Any assistance would be welcomed. Going fishing tommorrow and I do not have any bait. No carp, drum, shad, nada.

Highland ramp area holding a few shad now. If not on the ramp look at the point to the North & off the hard clay shore to the south. Shouldn't be long and all the boat ramps should be holding shad with temps on the rise.

Caught 2 shad in about 20 throws and used to catch one channel about 1.5 lbs. Used shrimp and it didn't even get a sniff in 5 hours of fishing.
What do you guys use when you can't catch fresh bait?
