Taking my two boys fishing this Friday & Saturday. Staying close to Minnow Bucket and was hoping the crappie were biting under the bridge or out in the open close by. Not too familiar with Lake Fork. Also if you know of a great crappie guide that is reasonable. It will be just me and two boys ages 10 & 7. I don't care to fish. Rather them fish and I will assist. Any help will be appreciated.

Try Terry Moon out of Lake Fork Marina. Fished with her Saturday. Very nice. Very knowledgeable. Had a lot of fun. Day was tough but she found some anyway.

one of my neighbors caught about 20 yesterday morning under 154 bridge. He said they were 18-20 feet deep and all bit on jigs. Bit from before daylight to about 9am. Even when some are spawning, there will always be some deeper at the bridges. If you don't get a bite in 15 minutes, move to the next set of bridge pilings until you start getting bites.

This is pretty much how we fished the other day. In fact, we didn't spend more than 5minutes on a non-producing piling.

I would give each set of pillars 3-5 drops and then move on if I don't get a bite.
When in doubt, do without.

Sorry doc..idk if u are already gone or not.. Your best guide bets wld be james raines from here on the forum, or terry moon. Sure there are others but I can't think of em right this second. Lil caney creek is towards the damn from minna bucket, on the oppsoite bank. Just north of caney point. Major creek w good channel, timber, secondary points, and protected pockets in back. If u can't find em there or at the bridge run the boat lanes north from the bridge up to the next bridge 154 I believe and fish the shallower pillars on both bridges. Look for em suspended like the others said..around the cross members. But I'm betting there's fish shallow in caney, and all the other creek arms for that matter. Good luck

I fished 514 again today. Hard work to catch what we got, but had fun. Most everything was about 2 feet off the bottom. We saw Terry Moon, but didn't get to talk to her. My host speaks very highly of her. Also, most of the coves were full of crappie fishermen, if that means anything to you.

I don't know the lake, but since is so low, I think you could get out around some of the coves along 17, or any of the coves you could get to. Get your bobber and give it a shot.
