Howdy all! I'm headed to rowlett creek this weekend and was wondering if anyone knows of a decent spot to put my yak in without getting pelted with jigs. Thanks

Ive left my Ford F150 FX4 there for that long and it was fine. Im insured and dont keep anything valuable in it so I dont worry to much. Usually there are a lot of people fishing there and criminals dont usually break into trucks with other people around.

I hate rowlett creek during the sand bass run. Its the most crowded place to fish in all DFW. So many rude people.

Daveg99, thats the problem i hope to avoid. I would like to paddle in to a spot where bank anglers can't get to. It's the the putting in and getting out that are the problem.

Any of you guys ever fish the creeks feeding Twok or Cedar Creek for sand bass this time of year instead of rowlett creek to avoid those crowds on the banks? I'd imagine they get pretty good runs as well, and don't have nearly the pressure. Any good places to put in on King's Creek?

hellbender - thanks for the tip. I was on the banks at rowlett today and there was trash everywhere. I'm ready to take the yak to kings.

jimbo - did you find anywhere that you could paddle to where there wasn't anyone on the banks? Where did you end up putting in?

LoneStar, i put in at miller. Lot was packed with cars but not to many folks fishing around the bridge, most were south of miller road. Paddled up north to the railroad/dartrail tracks and fished there and hit some spots on the way back. Caught 3 crappie, 1 LMB and several sunfish, no keepers. One of the other yakers said that most banker fishers were north of 66 fishing for sandbass.
