I was wondering if any of you out there that are running the 6.7 cummins have... gotten rid of the DPF and EGR deal. I am thinking about doing so but am not sure. I would definately love the added mpg's. Any one know a place to get it done in or around San Antone and what it will run?

Also I have heard some of the systems are not permanent, as in very simple to get it all running stock again for inspections and such.

thanks for any info.

My buddy has it on his 6.7 cummins and he loves it. He is running a Smarty programmer and full Magnaflow exhaust, not sure what EGR delete he used but all it was is plates to install. I'm not a fan of the EGR delete but I drive a powerstroke and the EGR is a way for the powerstroke to realease boost when it gets above 40psi. To correctly do it on my truck you have to install a wastegate and you are talking about $3500 for just the EGR. Look into just a tuner and delete pipe for the dpf, I think you will be happy with the MPG increase from that but you do need to run at least a 100hp tune to see a good increase in MPG. hope this helps and fill free to ask more questions, sorry I'm not a Cummins guy

I love mine, gobs of power and about a 5 mile to the gallon increase. I run the H&S Performance Black Maxx, as far as the deletes you can do them your self in about half a day, you will just have to order the exhaust system and delete plates. Try Genos Garage online.

Wont that void your warranty?

Yes and no...

I found a setup that doesnt require a programmer, it is a fooler, you put in a new piece of exaust pipe where the DPF was and plug in a couple sensors that "fool" the computer into not regenerateing by saying everything is good to go and since the DPF is gone... it is. Is supposed to be completely removalbe and doesnt alter any programming and cant be detected after removed.

It wont improve performance, just economy, truck has plenty of power for me.

Any one have any experience or info on these?

By he got his done, he got it chipped or got the fooler thing like I was talking about above?

I dont want to chip it as you can tell it was there even after it is taken off. Im pretty sure I can do this myself, just need to look into it, I will try and find some more info.

Thanks tho, I might give them a call.

I'm gettin high 16s to low 17s mpg now on my 6.7. Whats the cost of th dpf/cat/muffler delete, egr delete and smarter tuner? How long would it take to pay for itself @ $3.40 gal?

Right now Im considering just the DPF delete. Without getting rid of mufler.

Cost to me would be $650 and I would get 3-4 mpg better, Im getting 16 in back and forth to work and low 17' on pure highway. For me it would be like a little more than 20% fuel savings. Im not debating weather to do it or not, I was wanting to see if any others out their had tried one of the foolers and if they were happy or if the truck imediately self destructed!

If it works and I go from an average of 16.5 to approx 20 or a little less 19.8 exact calc then I will save $20.40 per tank and it will take 35.5 tanks to pay for itself or approximately 9 months for the amount of miles I drive.

I'm thinking with exhaust work etc. Its going to run close to 1K, but even still, I currently go through 34 gal per week, so a 20% improvement would pay off in short order. My 6.7L cummins gets mid-16's to low 17's fairly consistently, so 3-4mpg would be a fairly quick payoff at todays prices and even quicker at tomorrows prices.
