I've seen them and thought they were a good idea, but never actually found and ordered one. Seems like you could make something like that pretty easy.

I bought a ping pong paddle at Sports Authority and sprayed it with clear lacquer. It works great.

I have a couple of antique short handled sculling paddles that are very similar.
I have made a couple that work fine, but all things considered, I would probably buy one of those before I would build my own again.

here's a thought...why not have some type of hand glove with webbing in between the fingers much like a duck's foot? that way you your paddle already in your hands at all times without hindering you from your fishing. when you want to paddle open up your hands to expand the webbing, stick your hands in the water and paddle your heart out...hahaha
