would it be worth it to go to Lake Belton and try to catch some smallmouth and if so were would we start since neither of us have been to the lake ?

start at either side of the dam and work the rocks going toward the main lake. look for ledges and long points. slow and steady will get you bit right now.

Anytime you can fish for smallmouth is worth it to me. But That is all the help I can offer my friend....

this is a very good starting point. from the dam up towards Cedar Ridge area is where you can find smallies. Most of mine have always come off of bluffs.

is there a boat ramp by the dam , i will be coming down 36 from jonesboro, and what lure do you think would work best?

There's a few boat ramps there but the closest is Live Oak Park. Also Franks Marina if you need all those amenities.

+1 try red/blk cranks 3 to6 foot running baits
