I live on Marine Creek Lake (seperated by a greenbelt) opposite side from the college. I have walked the shores trying minnows and jigs but have never even seen a crappie come out of the lake. Has anyone fished this lake and found a good spot or at least area for crappie. I hear stories about good crappie in this lake but I cannot find them. I feel like a falure because I have a lake within walking distance but usually end up driving to Weatherford, Mineral Wells, or Leon. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

He once caught his limit in the sahara desert, he once fried crappie using a lighter and a dixie cup. He is the most interesting crappie fisherman in the world. Stay thirsty my friends....

you have to build them some homes, preferably in 12-17' of water. brushpiles is the key on that lake.

you can, however, sour some maize/milo in toad sacks and toss it out about 20 yards--- then come back and catch cats and carp all day long wink that used to be our time killer wink

You'll need a boat to fish that lake, until Spring rolls around.

I have a two man boat that would be perfect for that lake... but with a name like "bigwhiskers" you are probably too fat and we would sink. peep

Thanks to everyone but Scooter who bought the worlds smallest 2 man fishing boat so he can't even take his fishing buddy out with him. I will explore the idea of brush piles, I just cut down a bunch of limbs in the yard and I figure I can rig something up with those and a brick or cblock. Oh, and scooter see you friday buddy smile
