I snapped the mounting base off the trolling motor transducer. If I duct tape over the transducer to the motor, will it affect the transducer ability to send out signals and receive them back accurately? thank you

You can fix the whole world with duct tape, LOL
It will probably work OK that way.

Transducer Shield and Saver has a trolling motor mount to use your broken one. Check their web site.

A little JB Weld will make a permanent repair. I think I have broken every transducer I have owned and JB made a permanent repair on all.

My trolling motor transducer is on it's 4th fix with JB weld. The neck of the transducer is a weak point. I used a dremmel tool to shape a curve on 1 inch pvc to fit the motor and transducer. I JB weld both ends. Works great until the next time I let waves bang it against a stump or rock.

I , too, broke my transducer so I bought JB Weld yesterday but haven't tried it yet. Too cold. It was only 48 here today on the lake and it has to be over 50 per the instructions. good suggestions. Thanks

in my kayak i have my transducer sitting in a "bowl" of vaseline and then shooting through the plastic hull. i bet duct tape won't effect it.

I don't think I have ever owned a boat, and I am on my 8th, that did not have the TM ducer taped on to the TM. After 1 or 2 trips to the north end of Lake Palestine I will end up having to tape the transducer on. I use electrical tape about a 1/2 roll at a time less than 99 cents, never had a problem. Mine's taped on right now been that way for a year and a half.

I used the JB Weld after trimming it with my dremmel tool as recommended and gave it a good test all day Wed. and half a day Thurs. Went to Monticello both days and it with stood the test of those nasty stumps. The transducer held up just fine. Oh yeah, it held up on several sand bars in shallow water as well. I'm definitely sold on JB Weld.

Thanks to all. Saved me $$$$$'s.

PS - it must have brought me good luck too. My fishing buddy and I had the best day and a half we've ever had. We boated approx. 75. We had a few nice ones, but most were average size but it was fun. The JB Weld must have attracted them. ha
