I use make flouro furled leaders and use a flouro tippet when fishing a clouser or something else i need to get deep. Flouro sinks, and mono floats. a flouro leader and tippet will act as a sort of sink tip if you need some depth

I used to use Seaguar Grand Max for steelhead on the Great Lakes and swore by it when the rivers would run clear. I still prefer to use it now that I'm back home. it's not cheap, but then again neither is the diesel fuel I burn in my truck to get somewhere to fish.

For economy and performance I still reccomend Seagar-Invisx. I go thru a 200 yd. Spool about every 3 months. That gives you an idea how many leaders I tie on and use. And I push leaders way beyound the amount of abuse you should. But the average fly fisherperson is not going to use that much line. I would recommend using the best line you can find for your type of fishing reguardless of price. Your leader choice is no place to try to save a few $$$$$.

Nope. It was likely my lack of experience, unsteathlyness, fly selection, and poor casting ability. Although, I prefer to blame not catching on other things.
Same here.
