well was sitting around the house this evening thinking i had not been on the water in a few days so at 21:00 i went and hooked up the boat and headed for the lake. the water was calm with a little wind out of the south. droped a light and netted some bait. and was putting things up getting ready to head towards the dam when the finder was showing fish from top to bottom. some hooked up a shad and dropped it over and bam nice 20" Hybrid, for the next hour the same thing drop it down and real them up. biggest fish was around 5 pounds or so and all were put back for you guys in the morning :p all put up a great fight on the ulta light gear. all the fish came from the rush area to the middle of the lake. called it a night when the wind picked up at midnight, sure was nice to fish without breaking a sweat, and the breeze kept the bugs off. i think i might be doing this again soon.

Don't you just love the night fishing under the lights???!!! It is cool, and the fish will always come to the lights!!!! Also, a lot more relaxing dropping down bait than having to work lures. I call it my lazy man's, beer drinking, relaxing and chilling out trip!!!

Where do you get your shad? Do you just drop a light anywhere near a marina and throw your net?
I've never done this before and would like to try some night time fishing under some lights.
Please give me recommendations on battery, type of light, location for bait and fish, etc.
Thanks to everyone.
I don't trust a catfisherman who doesn't have shad scales on his hands or his reels...period.

bob you know after chasing them fish around and making sure everyone has caught some, it is work but fun work, somtimes you just have to take some time and kick back a enjoy the lake by yourself
