Still fun to cast.
Still fun to crank.
Still fun to catch.
Still fun to fillet and skin (because I know what's next).
Still fun to fry.
Still fun to eat.

2.5 Lbs.

Coated in white cornmeal, salt, and tiny bit of cayenne; fried in olive oil on medium heat; a smeer of mayo, and a tortila for a handle. Best fish I can remember.

Yellow/green bomber at 6-8 ft w/ rattle, mid-day hunt fish.

He had a partner who slapped at the lure for 15 mins after that but wouldn't hit it.

Sunburn isn't too bad. I feel great. Hope your weekend was as good or better.

I posted this awhile back, you may or may not find it useful. Enjoy.

I'm a fairly unapologetic kill what I take, eat what I kill kinda guy, but I would throw back on a lip hooked bass anywhere near 5 Lbs.

Fabulous, flaky, tasty, yummy large mouth.

The particular lake I was fishing is in Oklahoma. It's stocked, has no size restrictions, and limits 6 per day, combined, of large or small mouth bass.

Can't wait for next weekend.

Good for you! And yes I occasionally eat bass as well. Growing up we survived on what we caught! food Now that I'm providing for my family, I no longer HAVE to but do enjoy one every now and again. smile welcome back to the sport we all love!

Mild, flaky, white fish. Fries up very nicely over medium heat with a corn meal/salt coating. cheers

I used to eat bass as a kid all the time, free meat! Actually taste really good. Dont eat em any more really, I prefer to wait till winter time to load the freezer with barfish and crappie. Try marinading 'em in a cold beer for 1 hour, then rolling 'em in Zatarans fish fry w/ lemon. Fantastic.

I have eaten bass once and thought is wasn't too bad tasting. These were freshly stocked fish into the river. I did find that unless its over 2.5lbs not much meat on them.

No where on the Tx fishing lic.{or rules} does it say.."you can not eat bass"..
it just tells you how many a day you can eat!

Just don't be like the two anuses here in South La that was caught with 95 in the box. I keep my share sometimes but will not cut a fish over 3.5#. IMO
