GRAPEVINE — Three boats burned at a marina on Lake Grapevine early Friday morning.
Grapevine Fire Department Deputy Chief Kent Short said the call came in around 4 a.m. The first units to arrive at the Silver Lake Marina in the 2500 block of Fairway Drive found one boat fully involved and two others burning.
Two of the boats had burned through their moorings and were adrift.
Fireboats from Grapevine and Flower Mound put out the flames.
Short said there was no evidence that anyone was aboard any of the boats.
The marina itself, which is across from the Gaylord Texan Resort, suffered minor to moderate damage in the blaze.

thats crazy. twin coves had one years ago that sunk some boats.

Kind of sounds like it was intentional - but I'll try to follow up on it later. I will bet someone from Grapevine will know the story and let us know what caused the fire. Hope these guys had insurance !!

If they have power to the boats it could have been an on board charger malfunction but unlikely nonetheless.
Or some people have lights strung up around/on their boats who knows

its funny how many people immidiately think the Negative rather than the positive.
All boats have wiring,some have fuel, others have external wireing coming in from the docks. For all we know a battery charger sitting on the dock caught fire and it spread.
When people die do others say the same thing? oh he prob did it for the insurance money? lol come on!
