I get my stuff from mudhole. and you don't necessarily need all of the mumbo jumbo. I have successfully wrapped the guides on 4 rods so far with a cardboard box with a v cut in each end and a book to hold tension on the line. and I have epoxied the wraps while just hand-turning the rods every few minutes at first and then as the epoxy starts to dry you can lengthen the time between turns to keep the epoxy from sagging. I'll admit, it might be easier with a rod turner, but since I was just starting, I did it the cheap way and it worked fine.

I think Mudhole charges quite a bit for shipping, so make sure you have a sizable order. You don't want to order something every couple of weeks or shipping will eat you up.
