I have had a Bauer MX4 for several years and love it! I used it for steelhead on Lake Erie tributaries. The drag was as smooth as you could ask for.

too late, already ordered the Mid Arbor in black. My mother-in-law gave me a gift card to Orvis. I got a free spool too. I'm putting Orvis big bug on one spool and probably some RIO trout on the other.

Orvis Mid Arbors are good reels for the money. I have several of them, plus spools. And Orvis backs their products well.
