Here are some of the pics of the largest fish. Caught over 400 lbs total - and this was a "bad" trip according to my uncle in law who guides out there. I didn't think it was too bad considering we were fishing during the hottest part of the year.

Dang, if that's a "Bad Trip" I don't think I could handle a good trip! Anybody complaining about that trip should go out with me next time. grin

Nice fish. Were you fishing with rod and reel? How deep were you and what was the bait of choice?

The gene pool could use a little chlorine.

oh no no...sorry shoulda been more specific. These were on some lines we ran (not rod and reel). We only ran them twice, so I suppose 200 + lbs a run is pretty nice. I think my uncle (who guides there) is just used to 2-3 times that many fish. But, he does generally fish in cooler temps there.

Depths ranged from 14 - 8 ft. The deeper hooks near the river did nearly NOTHING. The hooks in shallower water were excellent. Most fish were actually caught about 4 feet under the surface.

Oh ya, sorry. We used cut perch for bait. The heads hooked through the eyes worked best. The pieces ranged from 1/2 in to 2 in thick. Nothing too large. Live bait wasn't worth anything as the water was too hot and the perch would die.
