i could never get accused of cheating... since you have to actually catch fish in order to stuff weights in them

Jay,
We do not need PETA to bring this sport down. Some of the Anglers are doing it themselves.
With all this cheating going on. I think the trails should hold the money. Do the polygraphs the day after the tournament has completed and mail the checks to the winners. I think there is a big flaw in the way the system is/has been operating. People are now being exposed that have probably been cheating/stealing and lying for a long time.
I know keeping the money and doing the poly's later would not settle well. I believe, the polygraphs could be administered better than the day of the tournament. Anglers, are amped up on coffee, energy drinks, lack of sleep and the excitement of the possible prize.
JMHO I like this idea. I think the TDs could make one addition to this. Not sure how much it would cost or logistics, but what about keeping the winning teams fish until the next AM or later in the Day. If a fish dies then they could inspect it. Might deter some of this cheating.

I really dont get these people. I guess it boils down to one thing and that's EGO! Tournament anglers know, you cant win them all. Like anything, you have good days, and bad days. I guess some just get too caught up in wanting to be the best.

People prob cheat all the time and we don't even realize it. I sometimes wonder how many tournamets I hve fished in where the winning fish were in a basket for a couple days.

Was at a tourney just last year and when they called the winners up for the poly they got in their boat and left. Thought they had enough cheating fish to get a good check and not take a poly I guess, then they wound up winning.

I think these guys can fish , it is just greed taking over. Now some of the cheating that has taken place in Big Bass Tournaments are guys that really don't bass fish, just out for a quick check, at least the ones I have knowledge of.I can't imagine ruining your name as well as your family over it.Mike Hart has been fishing out there for years and was considered a very good stick.Wonder if this was his first time?

I would bet it is not the first time.
