That was good! I was surprised by some of these findings!

Intersting results there. I just started trying flourocarbon about 6 months ago and I am still not completely sold on flourocarbon over mono at all.
It has its + and - but I still prefer good ole Trilene!
Mono has worked for decades and still does.

The one finding in that study that really sticks out is stretch. How many times have you heard someone incorrectly state that fluoro has little or no stretch?

That was a very interesting read. I wonder how much has changed since 2007 when that study was done. I have Flouro on one rod and never use it due the memory in the line. I am still a mono and braid type of guy...Maybe some day I will take out a loan to buy some more and give it another shot.

I see they mentioned that the bads about fluoro is bad knot strengths. That must be related to certain brands because I use XPS and I have never had ANY problems ever with my knots not holding. As a matter of fact if I get a snag it's a pain in the butt to break 20 lb test...

This was a little older report. I know that Trilene 100% is much much better than the Berkley Vanish. Gamma Edge is gone now, they shut down their line production.

berkley 100% is not on there, its the best I found, but invisx did well, You just have to understand fluoro to use properly, I like it and it has worked well for me. The main thing is use a improved clinch knot and the 2 mentioned lines and you wont have many problems

I am surprised at how bad Seaguar faired. I have always thought this was the top of the "line".

3 year old report. Much has changed for many of these lines and some of the new ones are not mentioned. Time for them to do a new flouro comparison.

The main thing is use a improved clinch knot and the 2 mentioned lines and you wont have many problems Invisx & Carbon Pro had the most stretch of all the Fluorocarbon lines tested. You may as well use Mono if your going to use that stuff. The Three best in that test were Maxima, P-Line and Suneline. Berkley 100% is good line but it also has alot of stretch. Any Fluorocarbon thats says limp, easy casting or shock resistant on the box is going to have a bunch of stretch.

I am surprised at how bad Seaguar faired. I have always thought this was the top of the "line". Everybody on here brags on Seaguar but it isn't all that wonderful. People like it because it cast better than the other brands that are more Abrasion resistant and have lower stretch. Seaguar has more stretch than most Fluorocarbons. There are several Copolymer Lines that have lower stretch than Seaguar Fluoro such has Trilene Sensation and P-Line CXX and they cast better.

I wonder if the test was redone with Seaguar AbrazX how it would fair. I have used this stuff and really like it. I also tried 17 lb XPS but it kept poping on me.
