Jed Dickerson used to take some people out. No idea how to get a hold of him, but it would make for an interesting trip. I've talked to him a couple times out there...really nice guy.

I am from that area, the lake is so small, you can cover it in less then a day. it is very clear almost like fishing a swimming pool

Lake Dixon is so gay it is beyond words to describe. Hire a guide on Diamond Valley and you'll have more fun and catch bigger fish.

yeah if your from Texas the Cali lakes are pretty dissapointing...Go to Casitias or Castaic. Mad schoolies. Rich Tauber is who i went with. Crazy a$$ dude

seems like dixon would be worth a day trip if you were fishing cali just for novelty.

Dixon is a small swiiming pool type lake. The only time anyone catches the big fish out of there is during the spawn when they are on their beds. The lake only allows rental boats that are equipped with a trolling motor and you can circle the lake multiple times in an hour. The best time to fish is March-May if you want a chance at a trophy. Diamond Valley is where I would fish if I wanted to hire a guide or possibly Vail Lake.
