A while back, I wrote that I'd sold my boat and would gradually distribute the savings and proceeds to our local guides. Joe Read and Chuck Rollins have already gotten their share...yesterday was Mr. Guy Skinner's turn.

Guy, my brother and I hit Grapevine for a half day trip...and were immediately greeted with some tough wind conditions. But that didn't slow us down. We had to keep moving around, but Guy kept us on fish all day.

We spotted a lot of fish on the brush piles, but the wave action kept popping the trolling motor out and we figured was spooking them....but we still managed to do pretty good and got some nice slabs in the box.

But...the best part of fishing with Mr. Skinner is just hangin' out with a true professional and genuinely cool dude to be stuck with in a Lund for a few hours...can't wait until our next trip.

...'fraid there won't be a Texas guide trip in July...I'm going to spread my "boat fund" proceeds around in the Cayman Islands...huntin' tarpon and bone fish...Yah Mahn!

Well, i tell ya whut, I'm not the only one who tends to put a minner on the backside of a Jiggum Jig.
The jig gets their attention and the minner is the clencher.
My version of "Dinner & a Movie" for crappie.
cheers

Thanks Richard, it was fun, but the last three days has been butt kickers because of the wind (and I've got one more to go before I quit for.....two days bang). Richard and Howard are two of the most unique guys that I've fished with. One's quiet....and one's not, but no doubt, two guys that simply 'love life', and intend to live it to the utmost. Everyone should have as much fun as these guys do thumb

And a note to everyone else......go fishing Tuesday and Wednesday, as I won't be on the lakes, so the wind won't blow, but I'll be back out Thursday, so don't plan on going that day eeks eeks eeks
