For example, I recently heard of somebody getting a ticket for putting a fish attractor at Lake O' the Pines.
Do you know the circumstances around this incident? Just kinda interested in what happened.

just talked to the corps for Belton and Stillhouse and for it to be legal here all you have to do is send them a letter of where you want to put it.....wait a minute that may be a good job, you would know where every legal brushpile is

I had what appeared to be a crappie condo in my truck. corps of engineer guys pulled up said they could take it from me. It is illegal according to him. I dont recall what happened to it next!!! But I do know where theres a weird looking structure on the lake with fish all over it. thanks to who ever put it there!!!

Several years ago I talked with the Corp guys at Grapevine and they said as long as you make sure that it's not a navigational hazard, it's OK. Mine are all in 15-30' of water, so I think they qualify.
Every lake that I know anything about in Texas has brushpiles in it, and that goes double for Cedar Creek (one every 50 yards it seems like). So use some common sense when you put one out and you probably won't get in trouble....and if you're gonna worry about something, you should worry about getting caught cutting those trees near the lake to build brushpiles. They do definately frown on that.

A couple of years ago I was organizing a sinking party in our area lakes. I asked the Corp at Grapevine and they said no way, no how.

A couple of years ago I was organizing a sinking party in our area lakes. I asked the Corp at Grapevine and they said no way, no how. That is what they always say - that is their pat answer (what is stated in their SOP - Standard Operational Procedure manual - and no one whats to get fired). If you really don't want to know the answer - DO NOT ASK THE QUESTION (let me say this again - If you do not want to know the answer - DO NOT ASK THE QUESTION)! Also this should be titled sinking cover - Not Sinking Structure - watch Bill Dance and learn the difference. Wake UP America !

if they decide to screw with you, its covered because the laws are general and bland in nature, so the powers that be can manipulate them to suit thier personal agendas and hold the public in an oppressive state. Thats why you cant get a straight answer .
COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

Years ago Corp lakes Authority advised me also that you would need a written request with approx.?? lake location.. Depth Etc. Then authourization could happen. Due to Large wilows easy to find on all our new tech fish finders I now prefer small hardwood or bam boo. but hard wood seems to be perfect for long term spots. If you built it others will come. So that ok as long as they dont drag the anchor. Best results for me is to find a exsiting pile even small and add a branch. Easier and better results. Who really cares if you throw a stick in the water. But when you drag a 40 ft. tree out in the lake it seems to cause some attention. And most likely you will not be the one benefiting from it. Ever one with a 2d will be on that spot. Humble opion only. NOt even close to an expert.
