Well I decided I needed something bigger than my 30 gal aquarium to hold minnows so I cleared a spot in the garage went to tractor supply and bought a hard rubbermaid 100 gal tank. I picked up a couple aerators and 2 charcoal aquarium filters. Also added a 2 ft bubble wand. My garage rarely gets very hot so I hope this will keep some live bait. If it starts to show it needs the water to be cooler I will have to figure something else out or atleast figure how to get the water cool and maintain a good temp.

What works for me is that when it gets hot is to dump the minners and buy some Jigums or some Bobby
Garlands. clap rolfmao

smile I Tie my own but when you guide you find times when clients want minnows so I keep some always on hand and even though I tie my own jigs there are days the crappie perfer minnows so I will not hesitate to throw a minnow if thats what they want.

Looks great,I think it will stay cool enough with the water movement you have there but you could always add cooler water in the evening to cool it down.A five gallon swap out should do the trick unless it gets really warm.

Looks great. 2 suggestions, you might want to keep some Bait Saver in the water. Also, when you do a water swap (like Tim said, 5gal should do good) fill your bucket and set it out in the sun for an hour if you use tap water. That dissipates the chlorine. Then set it in the garage for a while to normalize the temperature. I discovered the hard way, chlorine shock or temp. shock will kill a batch of bait.

Great guys I do have a bait saver in it as well as a chlorine remover that comes in a bottle from the aquarium section of the fishy store. It suppose to be fish safe immediately I am going to let it cycle 24 hours the add fish and see. On the water change out you guy mentioned I will give that a go for sure.

Freeze a couple gallons of water in milk jugs. When temp is high, remove one from freezer and put in tank. Swap out with the frozen one when that one melts. Two might not be enough, but can bring the temp down dramatically. Electric aerators heat the water, a better choice would be air pumps and soap stones. Real nice though...been threatening to do something like that for myself.
I prefer jiggin but if the crappie are eating minnows...then minnows it is!!! If I could only get a jig to look , taste and swim like a minnow then I would probably stop using them completely.

A good day fishing is not losing a jig, a bad day fishing is not losing a minnow!
