Finally made it back to the lake this morning after 11 days off the water. Been busy buildng a new shop for my business, but the withdrawals were getting pretty bad and my son had the morning off also.
Anyway, put in at Lake Park at 7:00 and there were scattered sandies on the surface just outside the bouys at the ramp. Caught 10-15 but all were small so went looking for something bigger. Nothing at Twin Trees, but a group of boats south of the poles. However, there wasn't much activity, just a lot (7, which is a lot for Wed. morning) of boats. Checked Deadman, Hackberry and the east shore but found little. Back to Twin Trees, and the hybrids had moved in with a few magnum sandies in the mix. Caught 12 legal hybrids (largest 22"), a bunch of smaller ones, a handful of magnum sandies, and one 6lb blue. Son had a great time, it was the first time I'd managed to get him into that many large fish in quite awhile. Left at 10:00 with 5 of the sandies for tonight's supper.

Forgot to mention the topwater fish were caught on clear Zara Puppies and all the fish at twin trees were on 1.75oz Cabela's Real Image jigging spoons in chartreuse shad color.

davevv, Were you in the boat with us and I didn't know? It does sound like we had the same day. I forgot to add in my post that I caught all my fish off the black/white burgess slab, shad shape, and I swear they were eating it. I lost it on a tree, looks like Rod will be getting another order from me, I really do love that one. Those are really great slabs. , This is the color, but I like the Shad shape. Sharon
