I imagine the water is pretty warm and they have moved off into their summer haunts. I never got to fish the lake back in the good ol days, but as deep and clear as it sounds, the deep water structure bite must be awesome!

Post a report? I'm sure its not too tough to catch fish out there, but I want the guy that's getting me on the lake Sunday to have a really good time. Get him on a really good bite.

tried the H20 swimbait caught a 3 pound catfish hope you had better luck with it than I did. Caught tons of fish took some home to eat and all but one had bloody tails and were full of eggs. Hard to imagine they have not spawn out with 85 degree water temps.

Same here, caught a 2lb channel cat on my h2o swimbait. But I caught a ton of bass between 2 and 4 lbs. I had 2 BIG fish on and my wife had 1. The one I saw was 10 lbs are better ,never saw the other one. The one my wife had ate her 10inch power worm and never slowed down, busted 20lb flouro like it was thread. Those bass are mean 2 lbers fight like they are 6 lbers. My dad and his partner sat in one spot most of the day and caught over 100 and thats not counting catfish. We could'nt fish our open water big fish spots due to the high wind. I forgot how rough that little lake gets.

I spoke to an employee that gave me the info this morning. He says they will allow fishing Fri-Sat-Sun only. Maximum 100 boats each day. You cannot fish more than one day per week. Launch fee $30.00. I understand the tournament this weekend was a $500. buy in. Some sort of charity event. Open fishing starts next Friday.
I didn't read the entire post, I apologize if thie repeats previous info. They will have a website to get reservations. I don't believe its up yet.

Bob
I appreciate the TFF.

$30.00 to launch? No thanks, that's robbery...

I don't live for the thump, but I sure do like it.

Based on my experience on Sunday, I think I will pony up the $30 launch fee on occasion. I really like the lake, lots of good structure. I would like to get out there one day with less wind. It was tough to fish the deep spots Sunday.

We caught a lot of fish, not 100+ like some of the locals, but we had a great time.

There are ALOT of drum and catfish in that lake.

My brother-in-law fished there Friday with a couple of friends. They caught nearly 300 bass between them, the smallest fish going around 2.5 to 3 pounds. That's pretty dang awesome!!!

Three non employees fished Squaw Friday May 7th. We have donated bass or catfish guided trips on Squaw to the Hood County United Way. I asked to be able to pre-fish before we had to take folks fishing. Myself and another shared a boat. Before the wind got up, we found good bass to almost 6 pounds on main lake points. Tried shallow first, saw some bass but they would not commit. They had a big bass pot, my partner caught the biggest bass, 5-14. There was also a 30 pound yellow cat weighed in. Our best 5 bass weighted just over 20 pounds. I will be back for more after I take someone fishing for the charity. I do not know when or how they are giving the fishing trips. That is a United Way thing.
