Nope... I was about to buy a 2008 chip off someone, but now I'm unsure if I want to. Spend $75 more and get a lot more lakes that I fish regularly, but lose some of the features of the pre-2009 chips. What to do, what to do?

I've read it's a GIVE and TAKE situation on the pre-'09 Nav chips.
With the pre-'09's you get more upper creek arm and structure detail, though Navionics claims accuracy is suspect.
Also, the older Lowrance LCX's (26, 28, 37, and 38) will read the 3D functionality in the pre-'09 chips, but cannot read the 3D detail on the Platinum chips.
With the later model Nav chips, '09 & '10, you lose upper creek and structure detail, but gain considerable position accuracy and get more lake maps.

I don't think there is a South region in those years. Texas is broken into East and West I believe. Check the link above for the regions. I might be able to find you one. Let me know what region you want.

Ah ok. I think I remember someone trying to get rid of one. Let me see if I can't remember who it was.
