I have a 17mm lug nut on the front wheel on my tractor that decided to round off...I need to remove the lug nut so I can take the tire in to get repaired...Any ideas?

if you have access to air and a air chisel that will take it off. if not, but a cheap 12point socket and drive it on there really well and it should come off.

Ive always heard spraying the nut with nitrogen and freezing it then hitting it with a chisel or punch would break it right in half

Not sure what your rims look like, but you might be able to use a pipe wrench

i have a nut removal tool, that hammers on, and drives splines into the damaged nut that allows you to turn it off.
may sell em at northern tool. or you can come get mine and borrow it. (gas would probably be the cost of the tool).
i have used an air hammer before and just caught the edge of the nut, and worked it around until it came loose enough to get off.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I began working on getting that lug nut off at 10:30 this morning...At 1:45, I finally found someone in Whitney that had the right tool to remove that thing...I went over, picked it up and came back to the house...I sprayed 1/2 small can of WD-40, broke 1 extension, 2 socket wrenches and one pipe (I used it for leverage), but finally at about 3:45, that lug nut gave...I took the tire, the extraction set, and the tube for the tire over it and $6.00 later I had a good tire...1 hour later and I had 1 acre mowed...Dang, that was one heck of a lug nut...

It's a good idea to put some grease on the studs when you install the lug nuts to keep rust out. It makes removal so much easier.
