Check with Jerry at elm creek . he can point you in the right direction . You can also launch there and eat there.

Matt, I had a great day today anchored by an 8...I put in at Concho and fished the Colorado. They have moved into the coves to spawn...water is 66degrees. f5 Tornadoes.

Matt.... It will be as crowded there as flies on a cow patty Saturday and Sunday. But, I think you will have better odds of finding a parking place by putting in at the Concho marina. You will turn South on the West end of Ballinger and come out about 12 miles. You will come to a blinking yellow light at an intersection. Turn left at that intersection and go about 10 miles. You will see the TPWD Public Boat Ramp brown sign on the right hand side of the road. You turn left (road doesn't have a right hand turn intersecting road there) and follow it down about 6 miles to Concho Park Marina. They have a store there and will sell you a $5 permit to launch and park at the ramp. The ramp is about 350 yards on down that road from the store. Have your license plate number when you go into the store to buy your permit. Just head out anywhere from there and start fishing. Be very careful and watch for the big pecan and oak trees. You will be able to tell where the river channel is at from the ramp by looking at the large gap in between the tallest trees to the East (right) of the ramp. Watermelon Chart magnum 8" lizards work great there. There is another bait that is whacking them down there. But, if I say what it is, some will say it's a plug for that bait. Watermelon red worms, blue fleck, and green pumpkin are the top colors there. Email me if you have any further questions and I will try and help you out.

We have a 70 boat tournament launching out of Elm Creek Sunday. That's why I suggested trying to launch at Concho. I always launch at Elm Creek. It's wide open lake there with no trees to tear up anything on your boat. Lots of fish on that end too!!!
Thanks GoWacky..... Don't forget the F6.5 too!

Plenty of parking at either ramp, walking a little further to get to and from your boat isn't no big deal. Fish your strengths and you'll be fine. Just enjoy your day on the lake. Good luck!

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know when to go fishing.

It's definitely not like walking at Amistad. You will just have to walk a couple hundred yards to the ramp from where you will be parking. Endless amount of parking down the side of the roads. Ivie has every type of fishing scenario there is. Like it was said, fish your strengths and you will have a great time there.
