Enjoyed fishing with out of town customers Chris, Rob, and John today from noon to 3:30 pm. With the overcast and breezy conditions recently the birds have been working throughout the day making it easy to locate fish. Over the last few days the birds have been at Rockledge, Murrell, Meadowmeare Parks, around the island, and at sandbass point. One ounce slabs in just about any color caught our 105 sandies today smile , many undersized frown . All fish caught and released. Don

Don, thanks for the report, it is always good to see smiling faces. I hope to make it there this weekend. Do you know if is there any structure at the Washing Plant (rock crusher) that holds fish?

I have been told by some "old-timers" at the marina that, when the lake was built, it flooded early and caught all of the equipment at the rock crusher. They said there are 2 bulldozers, a backhoe, and at least one truck under water, as well as the loader thing, whatever that is called.

I have no idea if it is true or not but that is what I was told.

The old rock crusher is west of the meadowmere, twin coves area about a half mile south of the creek channel, there is a marker bouy in the area right out in the middle of the lake, back in the 90's when the lake was real low the top of the boom was out of the water,I was told that divers went in and cut a good size piece of it off,as far as fishing goes I have only fished there for crappie in the summer and never had any luck, always did better midlake east toward the dam.

I was out there yesterday afternoon bass fishing and the birds were going crazy all over. There were not a lot of boats around either. Wish I had some slabs so I could have caught a few. I bet it was a fun afternoon.
