I�ve been Bass fishing with the Senko Stick bait lately and have gotten frustrated. I�m rigging it Texas style with a bullet weight. It seems that after about 10-15 casts the front (ie the part of the bait covering the eye of the hook) starts slipping down the hook and balls up in the hook �gap� every time I cast. Does anyone else have this issue? I know the Senkos are soft but this is just getting frustrating, and expensive. Any advince on how to prevent this is appreciated.

If your using the Yamamoto senko's then thats your problem. My buddy swears they catch more fish but there way to soft, glue is probably your only fix and its temporary. I personally use either YUM or Wave Worm. I dont know what the youvella hook is but its not gonna make it where you can catch more than probably one fish per worm.

I love the Yamamoto but I only wacky worm with them because of this.but Bps senkos are stiffer and you can get a huge bag try those out

Plus 1 for BPS. They're cheaper and hold-up much better. Yum Dingers are good but a little pricy and not all that durable. I use EWG hooks and don't have much of a problem. Once the worm gets worn a bit, they're all tough to hold on the hook.

I usaully only fish these weightless, are they that good TX rigged...

Yes they are. Fish them real slow and drag them over cover and let it drop-- stop them often -- killer down at Falcon.

Sounds like you may be putting the senko on to deep on the hook.Try just putting the hook in about a quarter inch or less on an offset shank hook.When you turn the hook to put the barb in the senko try to stretch the bait a little so its tightens it against the offset shank.Also unles I am fishing in 20 foot water I don't ever texas rig a senko. The nice part about them is the sink better than other brands because of the extra salt content makes the heavier is what I was told.

I tried Kanami a few years ago and noticed right away that they seem to hold up a little better than Yamamoto. since then I've been a Kanami guy. On the other hand my son swears by the Yum dingers. Whether T-rigged or weightless...you generally can't go wrong.

Use a screwlok hook. It has a small spring attached to the eye of the hook.

I don't know about another bait. Others work but nothing replaces the confidence that you have with the original Senko. When this happens I re-rig the bait in the opposite direction. You can also bury the hook a little deeper in the nose after this happens. Lastly you can melt it with a lighter or buy some of that mend-it stuff that repairs soft plastics. Hope that helps.

Both are made by Yamamoto. The Kinami was made, I believe, so they can sell it in K-mart without competing with their own Senko brand.

kinami and GY senkos are the same bait, just in his sons name, derrick. flash in japanese is senko...
