I was wondering if there is any good bass fishing on the Pecos near Carlsbad, NM.

No they have had a big fish kill for the last three to five years. Even if you catch something they are saying not to eat it.

The only parts of the Pecos river I thought were fishable were down toward the High Bridge in the Amistad backwaters. The Pecos river as it flows through west Texas is salty. Not a clean stream of water, and that is if you can find water. Up in New Mexico, however, I dunno what it is like.
