I moved to McKinney from Virginia in 2006 and I've currently got plenty of time on my hands for the next couple of months. The number one item on my to do list is to fish some of the top lakes in Texas. We have a place on Cedar Creek so i fish there quite a bit. I have also been on Texoma a few times.
Not knowing much about the other Texas lakes I thought I would get some advice from the forum. Here is the question.
If you had time to fish 5 to 10 different lakes, which lakes would you choose? If you could rank them it would be great.
I appreciate the help. Al

Which lakes? All of them. I've found that some smaller off the beaten path lakes are really nice and easier to catch unpressured fish on.
Major lakes I would hit for sure? Falcon, Amistad, Fork, Texoma.

Texoma for some big stripers would prolly be on my list. Looks like lots of fun.
Amistad, Falcon, Fork for black bass.
I think once it warms up good it would be fun to kayak fish the brazos.
Good luck with the different lakes. Let us know how it goes so we can all live vicariously through you!
Let us hope that the bass do not find the equivalent of the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch.
