Anyone been able to buy Corkys at Academy? Both stores in my area have places for them on the rack but the employees get them before they go on the shelf!

Same situation in S.A. & there are at least six locations to choose from. I've found the occasional Original Corky in limited supply. No Fat Boys, or devils. I'm really interested in finding a couple of devils. This brings me to another topic. The Corky Original and the Fat Boy look like the same lure Storm sells for .99 cents. Has anyone fished both and is there really any difference?

I got lucky at a store in Houston a couple weeks back, the guy was just unloading 3 different colors. Have been to a few other stores though and they just have empty racks ready...but nothing.

Just got lucky at my same store and picked up another. They only had Strawberry/White tail (which I got last time) and Dayglow which I just nabbed--not many left though.

They did have a couple Fat Boys in Dayglow

Hit the Academy in Lake Jackson this morning. Went by the Corky section and was shocked to see three still hanging on the rack.
1- orignal and 2- FatBoys red/white. I picked up a FatBoy. Some dude right behind me grabbed up the rest.

Today we caught them on bone-chartruese. I'm going to call the factory tomorrow.

Here is a link for the original Corky. Also, I have fished with the storm version and although I did catch a few fish, it wasn't as many as on Paul Brown's Corky's. Dayglow and Pink are the best colors for south Texas.

Heres a copy of text from an article on the Galveston County News Website on Corkies. Thought Id pass this along and add a Link.

"By far the No. 1 choice by a majority of this group was the Corkie, which is a hybrid between a hard and soft plastic lure.

Although this lure was the winner, dont expect to find any for sale at local tackle shops. The manufacturer recently was acquired by another bait company, and modifications in manufacturing equipment were needed to start production.

I have not had an update on when they will be back on the market; however, I was told it would be early this year."

Thanks for the feed back, horseplay. I'm by no means against shelling out the extra $$ for the real deal, no doubt I'll have one or more in the box before long. Just holding out for the Devils.
