I need to know the positive and negative things about an Eagle brand sonar?

I had a eagle 320 on my last boat and for the money it was great. I also had an eagle cuda on the front deck and it would marry up with the 320 on the console. So I guess that is good for under a couple hundred.

I bought an Eagle fish elite 642c sonar/gps from Cabelas a month ago and I love it.

In my opinion its just as good as lowrance I got a eagle 642c and it is the best graph Ive ever used other then my dads humminbird with SI but I have owned 2 othere eagle 320s and they were just as good... love eagle and havent had any problems with any of the units yet!!!

Possitive: they are cheaper in price than Lowrance
Negative: Lowrance is phasing them out soon (I've heard). So if your going to get one, get one now. And if it ever breaks, just throw it away because there will be no more parts for them.

They are basically the older lowrance units, the processor is a bit slower and the screens pixel display on the color models is a few pixels narrower but the screen height is the same as the current lowrance models. I have a 642c and for the money you can't beat it.

All great info thanks a lot guys.. Im lookin to buy a new sonar with gps and I just hate ruling out the Eagle brand cause of its prices
