I have one of each and have another of each I just bought that are on their way. Does anyone know if I can upgrade the US300s inside to be as smooth as the US600s? Is the amount of bearings the only difference? What would I need to change and where could I get parts?

Here is the problem quantum only stocks parts for five years. I have wanted to rebuild my 300 \ 600 and parts are unavailable. They are great USA reels!  I think you cant change a 300 to a 600 do to the reel frame casting. 
One you build and fish with your own hand built custom rod you will fish with nothing else!

So there are no aftermarket parts or anything? If something breaks then I have to get it off another reel or something? I love the reels, but it sucks if once they break I have to part them out or get rid of them.

I had both reels, I sold them after I used a ABU 4600C3 which imo is a better reel

I have a 4600 c-3 and the quantum 300\600. I like both but I am partial to the us made quantum. I have bought some quantum's new in the box since it is th last american made bait caster in the Zebco plant in tulsa. It is a shame that you will have to rob peter to fix paul.

You can add bearings where bushing are now. If there is a bushing in the 300 it can be replaced.

I just checked the schematic. I have no doubt that reel can be made to perform better.
