Falcon is not typically a big topwater lake. I fish it all the time and rarely do I ever get a good topwater bite out there. However, this November there was a good topwater bite for several weeks. it was really fun and tickled me to deth to catch those giant bass on a spook! I was throwing a spook that was about 8 inches long (lol)!

Falcon may be a better topwater lake than what some people think though because of the way that most of the experienced anlger fish it. Not too many big time falcon guys fish the lake shallow enough to use topwaters. Most people like to fish offshore structure on this lake and I dont blame them. However, even when I fish shallow I never have gotten a good top bite out there with any regularity!

Amen to topwater. It get's a bad rap on Falcon that I think is totally unfounded. It might not be the best pattern on the lake, but to me it's the most fun. I've had some of my best topwater days on the lake.
