For the last 3 years my family has traveled to TX to fish w/ our relatives from the Weatherford area. Went to Choke first year and Amistad the last 2. Looking at going to Ivie this year. My nephew's father-in-law from Midland was concerned about how low Ivie is. Does that create any problems that make it difficult to fish? Also where is a good place to stay. There will be 4 couples 3kids and 2 fish/ski boats. We picked Ivie because it looked like it was more centrally located as there are folks coming from San Antonio, Weatherford and Midland. If there is another lake you all would sugggest we are flexible. Thanks

look up Elm Creek. They are located about 400 yards from a ramp and have cabins and campgrounds for rent.

Its about 2 1/2 hours from Weatherford, but its an easy drive.

Hubbard Creek is another option.

Where in Kansas by the way? I'm from Coffeyville and have ties to Emporia, Dodge City, Topeka, Manhattan, and Olathe.

Small world. I hunt the inlaws place about 25 miles south of you down 99. Good deer up that way.

Good luck finding a place to go. Ivie has been kicking out some big bass already this year.

Ivie is definitely a place to go. Elm Creek is a great place to stay too. They have cabins and a grill in the marina. The boat ramp is right down from the marina. You can catch a lot of fish in March on Ivie. The chance for a fish of a lifetime is high there too. The lake is not too low to present a danger.
