I ordered some parts from Ranger last friday and they were at my door on tuesday. All thats happened is the holding company is changing and it business as usual at Ranger. All employees from what I was told are still employed by the new holding company. The name Ranger will go on as usual.

Who will now build the Legend Bass Boats? Legend builds their own boats and are covered up with work. Legend has nothing to do with Genmar. He's making a joke about the Ranger motto of "still bulding legends one at a time". ..just a play on words and I think its meant as a just a joke. I had them on the line, Just about to set the hook. Correct. Ranger Boats Still buiding Legends one boat at a time

What about their other boats? Did the same company buy them out as well? Is champion gone?

Ranger Boats is business as usual folks and a bright future ahead under new ownership. As much as some of their competitors hate to hear it, thats the TRUTH!

Not trying to hijack the post, but people need to really think about what Genmar/Ranger or whatever you want to call them now has done. They've run up a $100 million debt which will never be paid back, caused people to lose their jobs, their livelihood, etc., but continue to do "Business as usual". Well, if that's their attitude then people need to really think if that's the type of company they want to support. Seems to me like they're screwing over a lot of people and don't seem to be bothered by it.

Keep in mind that Genmar was Ranger Boats "parent company" and owned a lot of other lines of boats, of which Ranger was their most profitable. So it would be unfair to conclude that Ranger is solely responsible for this debt. There are a number of boat manufacturers that are suffering due to our economy...this is no secret. Regardless, its time for boat owners to support their brand of choice right now more than ever!

How could any american not be pissed off over a 100,000,000 debt that will never be settled? Exactly! My tax dollars, your tax dollars. I dont want to loose any fishing industry companies, but if it is at the expense of my tax dollar to keep them in biz, no thanks.

I agree that we should support them but maybe they should think about us just a little, like dropping the price to match the economy instead of going up! I just looked today and tracked my boat purchases from 2002 to now all were new & all were the same brand. 2002 26.5k 2004 44.5k 2005 48.5k 2007 44k (switched brands) 2010 I had priced today and wanted to order but common sense is kicking in 61k All the above boats are comparable the 02 was a 19' the others are 20 & 21' Just does not seem right.

+1, seems boats are higher than ever and moving in the wrong direction for a man making an average wage.

I agree. You hear this, we need to support them BS. Same was said with car dealers. I saw screw em. Who's going to support me when my business gets in a financial bind because of poor business practices? The answer is NOBODY. We owe them nothing whatsoever. And like FLW said, have they considered what they can do on their end to encourage us to support them? Not that I can see. 61k for a new boat? No thanks.
