Took my fiance fishing Friday and darn the bad luck she decided to step on one of my rods, Haven't figured out if it was on purpose to keep me in the house more, but any ways the first eye from the reel, the strands where you tie the eye feet down and the enamel over them broke lose and the eye shifted a little is there a way to repair it or do i need to try and take it in. It came from gander mountain its an all-star rod and i don't have a receipt i have had it about 2 years so i don't know if they will take it back or if i need to call all-star. any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks everyone for looking and helping.

If the finish over the wraps on the guide feet cracked and part of the finish or wraps came loose then yes it needs to be redone.

It's just a matter of getting another guide or using that one if it is still in okay condition and re-wrapping the guide and applying finish. I build rods so this process is just a matter stripping off the remaining finish and thread, cleaning it, and re-wrapping the guide on and putting the finish on the wraps and so forth. It's an easy fix.

I am not sure what rod repair places would charge but I imagine between $10 to $15 or so.

When I repair rods for people I have built rods for or just somebody that needs a guide replaced, I don't really charge anything. At least not any labor charge. I just charge the price of the guide if I need to replace it. So I charge a very minimal amount since I mostly build rods but I can do repair as well. I don't have a repair shop or anything though, I just build rods and do repairs out of my home just by word of mouth since I don't advertise or anything.

But replacing the guide is an easy fix. I have even done rods where customers want all the guides replaced just because they want to upgrade to better guides.

yeah the guide isn't broken it is just shifted and isn't in line with the rest of them. I appreciate the info and i'm going to try and find someone near longview who does the repairs. I wish i could do them myself but don't have any of the knowledge or equipment.
Thanks for the help
