The Revo S
Revo beats Shimano hands down any day. Better drag and better casting and better performance than a comparable Shimano reel.

Pick each one up and decide for yourself, they're both good, see which one fits you.... I prefer the citica. I had revos earlier in the year and wasn't satisfied so I sold them and bought citicas and curados and couldn't be more pleased. My partner had revos also and moved away from them to citicas... Just my .02

You have to decide what you like best. I prefer the citica for most applications. The Revo can be difficult to set up if you switch baits on the same rod and reel. When you get it set up the Revo will probably out cast the Citica. The drag system on the Citica is more than adequate for bass fishing. The Citica is smooth and fits my hand better than the Revo.
I have only one Revo XS that I use for flipping very thick hydrilla with a 1 oz weight so I wanted the larger drag system that it has.

Yeah it depends what you like. I fish saltwater so I prefer the Revo Inshore and I have used the other Revos as well and like them over Shimano.
But I also like Shimano too. Different reels for different purposes. I just like the way the Revos perform but I like the asthetics of the Shimanos more plus it is easy to get parts for Shimano reels and upgrade them.
My favorite is the Shimano 50/51 MG. Best reel they ever made for throwing light lures in my opinion. Or best Shimano reel period. Too bad they are discontinued.
But that Shimano Calais DC is a super sweet reel too. Sooooo nice.
I got some Shimano Cruxis reels for $40 that were on sale at Academy from $99 and those are pretty sweet too.
