I have been to Falcon several times. Unfortunatly my budget does not allow me to hire guides. But in speaking with several people I would go with Robert@ Roberts fishing tackle(he has been on that lake for fourty plus years and is a super nice guy), Charlie Haralson even though I have never seen or spoken to him, James at Falcon tackle or Speedy Collete at Beacon lodge if you could catch him in town and convince him to guide you. I believe Debra Hengst is a female guide if you want a woman to show you up.
I would not rate one above the other because I believe all could put you on quality fish on nearly any given day.

Charlie Haralson for several reasons...

Born and raised on Falcon and has walked every inch of the lake bottom in it's low years. He is the most tenured full time guide on the lake and works very hard to put you on both numbers and big fish. I have had several trips of a lifetime with Charlie. Bottom line is, Charlie cut his teeth on Falcon and is not one of these pop up guides you see that lives 4 hours away, fishes the lake twice a month and takes guide trips.

It is just like when Fork was hot. The long time guides found themselves competing with all the pop up weekend guides when the lake got hot.

You will not be disappointed with Charlie. I think you can see by the replies on this topic that his name was most popular. There is a reason for that....

I have fished with Robert Amaya several times and have always had a great time and caught good fish with him. Robert and Charlie grew up on Falcon and both are class acts. I am sure you wouldn't be disappointed with either.

I could not agree more with Z21. I would have to call out Challenger for disparaging Charlie without any given reason. I fish with Charlie several times a year and he is a true professional in every sense of the word.

Unfounded critisism can cost a man his income and I find that wrong. Have you ever even met Charlie?

I want to step in here and say that I respect anybody,s opinon on this topic. When someone that does not know anything about Guides on a lake they want to fish, they need to do their homework. guideing is a high pressure deal when you are paid to put people on fish on a dailey basis. As good as you might be, some days are going to be tough that is fishing, some people understand that and some do not. What you need to do is to get in touch with a person that knows all the Full Time Guides on Falcon and do not take the advice of a person that only knows one. James and Tommy at Falcon Lake Tackle know us all and they will be very frank with their opinon. I could name the ones that are good Full time Guides on Falcon that do it for a living on one hand and in my opinon you should not go outside that group, We all know the lake and we all will do you a great job.
