I guess I am going to scratch Tradinghouse off of the list for this weekend & go to Whitney instead.

I noticed that the COE website says the lake is approx. 2.7' low. Will this affect any ramps?

I am currently planning on launching out of Loafers Bend and fishing the lower portion of the lake. Other than the island, is there anything I need to watch out for when running the lake?

If anyone has some good info to give me on what's working real well out there and maybe a general pattern I can give you some good info on Belton in return.

Thanks.

both ramps at lofers should be open, you should be able to run wide open everywhere, nothing to worry about.

No problem anywhere. Only a couple ramps open a couple months ago....lake was 15 feet low. New flooded brush everywhere, all ramps open. MOST of the lake is wide open but lots of flooded timber in the upper 1/3 until lake becomes basically a river. The lower 2/3 is WIDE open. The brazos river channel is very deep throughout the entire lake. Lake maps show the timbered areas. Good Luck. 361V

West side of the island is shallow, with the lake up I'm sure it's a bit deeper, but on the lower end, that is the only place I have ever had to worry about.

It's about to be Smallie Season there.....gotta get there soon.

Whitney's SMB get going in the worst of the winter weather, just like Texoma..

I bet Belton does the same.....

We need a TFF Smallmouth Tourney, anybody interested ?

All the ramps should be good 2.7 foot down for whitney is basically full... lakes flucuates more than dang near any other. I've had 2 swim over light poles cause it's up so high 2 get to our slip at times and then had 2 climb ramps 2 the slip that were more like ladders when its that low lol

Whitney is great... love the winter time on Whitney... love the ice in the rod eyelets... love the slow bite... love the tap tap...

This is the boss yesterday... a 6-2

I just run the net.... and I am the guide... the Motorguide operator...

This is not a 6 lber, but one of 5 we caught in about 45 mintues..

Nothing beats Whitney in the winter... no schooling jet skis... no wake board boats.... very few bass boats... just quiet fishing....

the armadilla....
